Wayne McLennan of Alameda, Saskatchewan, born June 20th, 1942, passed away on Sunday, February 8, 2026, after a long battle with dementia. He never gave up. Even as words faded, his strength and determination never did. Now free from that struggle, his spirit lives on in the hearts of those who loved him.
Kind, helpful, and gentle, Wayne was strong, creative, and always building something. He loved his projects, his yard, and most of all his time in the shop, where he was happiest and most at home. He restored and customized more than 70 antique vehicles, and his creativity showed in every detail, from wild yard creations to the vehicles he cherished. He also had a soft spot for animals and enjoyed having them around.
Wayne is survived by his beloved wife, Peggy McLennan; his step-sons, Brett and Brad; his step-daughter, Lynn; his children: Shawn, Brent (Raquel), and Ryan (Shakina); his grandchildren; and numerous cousins, relatives, and friends who will miss him deeply and will remember him always.
He was predeceased by his parents, Emerson and Ollie McLennan.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Galloway Health Centre (Long Term Care) in Oxbow for their care and compassion.
A celebration of Wayne's life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Wayne’s memory may be made to the Estevan Humane Society.
